The Woodrow instrument series is a cross between a banjo and an Appalachian dulcimer (or lap dulcimer).  Played upright like the banjo, but having the dulcimer construction, gives these instruments the perfect style for Appalachian, bluegrass, celtic, and even blues music.  Some styles have a real banjo like twang, while others have a more rounded and mellow sound. Each one is different, and the voice and personality vary from instrument to instrument.

The name ” Woodrow”  is in honor of Brother Wood-row Branscome of Jacksonville FL, who lovingly gave Dan his insight and shop for the creation of this musical instrument.

Having taught beginner’s music for many years, he is able to not only explain the Woodrow in a way that anyone can understand, but creates an instrument that is perfect for the first timer and refreshing for the expert.

The Woodrow is composed of three main sections, the headstock, the neck and the body. One solid piece is used for the back of the body and neck, giving it superior durability and resistance to warping and bowing.  Due to the hardwoods chosen for  construction, they have a unique look as well as sound.

The unique design makes it easy for many ways of playing. From one single finger on one string, to flat picking , from major to minor to blues, this instrument is so easy and simple to adapt, the only limit is your imagination!

-Each instrument includes a lifetime warranty against warping or bowing.-
